Why I made a Will

Nigel, Client of Fathom

I am 72 about to remarry so why would I need a will?

Easy - to protect both my new wife and my children

I was surprised to find out that should I remarry, my existing will would become void. If I were to die before making another will, my new wife would receive the entire value of my estate. In the event of my new wife dying, all that I had worked hard for could be passed to her children, leaving my children with nothing. I don’t dislike my new wife’s children but I do prefer my own!

  • Having a will in place makes my wishes clear to everyone
  • Having a will in place allows me to protect my children
  • Having a will in place gives me peace of mind.
